Job Description:


The intern is responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring the DIA's marketing and communications strategy in order to increase awareness surrounding Downtown businesses (200+) and improve marketing efforts to increase traffic Downtown and aid the perception people have of Downtown North Bay.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:


Create positive content for our Downtown membership. Content such as "Good News Stories" from Downtown Businesses and documenting the "heart of Downtown" will all make a positive impact for the DIA's 200+ membership, not to mention North Bay as a whole.


This position will attract more people to the Downtown core as well grow tourism within the area.


Some of the activities will include:


- Collecting content through face to face interviews within our membership

- Researching online content as it pertains to Downtown North Bay

- Researching and implementing a social media strategy

-Creating a sustainable marketing communications strategy


Qualifications:


Good communication skills

Ability to create content for website and social media

Organizational skills for digital files

Ability to work independently/from home, and in a team setting


Secondary school graduates who recently graduated from an accredited college or university (within the last 3 years).


Graduate of post-secondary university/college with a degree/diploma in Business - Digital Marketing or Graphic

Design.



Northern Ontario Internship candidate eligibility:


  • Graduates of university and college (no more than 3 years old diplomas)


  • Internship will be given to candidates for first time employment in their field of study.


  • Graduates are eligible for this program only one time.


  • Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
